In the paper we present the results of studies on the variability range of the flower colour, size and shape in D. majalis. The research was carried out in three populations, deliberately chosen so that to exclude the possibility of hybridisation with other orchid species. The obtained results confirm a wide range of phenotypic plasticity of a taxon, in extreme cases causing problems in species identification...
The paper summarizes fieldwork which was carried out on the proposed Natura 2000 area called Ostoja nad Bobrem, located in the south-west of Poland. The research confirmed the presence of natural habitats appearing in Annex I to the Habitat Directive. Among them there are particularly important priority habitats such as: species-rich Nardus grasslands on siliceous substrates in mountain areas (and...
The aims of the paper are to present a list of vascular plants of the Wzgórza Łomnickie Hills (the Sudety Mts., SW Poland) and to explain the nature and consequences of main antropogenic and biogeographic influences on local flora. The detailed field exploration yielded a list of 585 species. Supplemented by both published sources and observations after 1980, the total number of vascular plant species...
In the paper 21 new localities of Artemisia abrotanum in Lower Silesia are presented. Most of them are situated within the Wrocław area. The species has a synanthropic origin and is represented, on the studied area, by di- and tetraploid forms. In most cases, the plants on their sites are represented by tetraploids. Only one diploid specimen was noted. This may suggest the extension of the distribution...
The paper presents the results of the research on plant communities in arable fields in Wroc³aw city (a capital of Lower Silesia, in the south-west of Poland). The investigations were carried on applying the commonly accepted Braun- Blanquet method. Two plant associations have been identified in cereal fields of the investigated area: Vicietum tetraspermae and Aphano-Matricarietum. The first of the...
The paper presents the research on the distribution of endangered and protected species of the vascular flora of the Równina Olenicka Plain and the western part of the Trzebnickie Hills. It is the supplement of the nature stocktaking carried out within the administrative districts of the region during the years 1991 1993 and is pointing out the need for further research in order to expand the knowledge...
The paper contains the results of scientific research in the Zdrojowy Park in Cieplice. General aims of the studies were analysis of the lichen flora and estimation of the environmental condition of the park using lichens as bioindicators.
This paper presents the environmental conditions, floristic structure and distribution of the Bidentetum cernuae association from the Bidentetea tripartitae class within 3 dammed reservoirs in Opole Silesia (SW Poland).
Muscari comosum is a sub-Mediterranean species, very rare and critically endangered in Poland nowadays. A new locality found in 2007 near Pierwoszów (Wał Trzebnicki Ridge) is the 7th existing in Lower Silesia, i.e. it is less than 10% of all known sites. The isolated population consists of 53 specimens and is endangered by anthropogenic impact and a succession of vegetation.
The paper describes the vascular flora and plant communities of the Łacha Farna Old River-bed area of ecological use which is situated in Wrocław city (SW Poland). The full list of recorded plants comprises 173 taxa. The most interesting plant is Ceratophyllum submersum (the rare species in Lower Silesia LC category). The vegetation is also strongly differential 41 plant communities belonging to 8...
Valleys of large rivers, like Bystrzyca which is one of the largest Odra river tributaries, are prone to invasions of alien plant species. The Bystrzyca river valley in Krasków-Jarnołtów section is a part of a protected landscape area but it is relatively modified by human activity. Reinforcement of the river bed may have caused the appearance of invasive species, while the process of their penetration...
